Yes, Organ guns and Fire Drakes and Grudge Throwers and Ironbreakers and Thunderers are all amazing, but the best unit is, in my opinion, the humble Quarreller.

He is quite tough if built up correctly.īest faction to start? Probably Thorgrim or Grombrindal leading Karaz-A-Karak. A well developed, well managed Thorek can also solo a lot of armies by himself. It's a very nice change of pace from fighting orks all the time. His Vortex start ( If you play Vortex campaigns ) can be really fun, as you are smack dab in the middles of elves, undead, and lizardmen. Can be a super fun, focused campaign as you hunt down lost artifacts and install a dinosaur in your army. Thorek is possibly the best fleshed out faction, leading Ironbrow's expedition way down south. 2) His battle play style lends itself to a slayer heavy build for his army, which makes Ungrim play 'fast' and 'aggressive' in comparison to other Dwarf Lords. After you kill Vampires, it's generally easier for you to head north and go help out Kraka Drak and go Slay Norscan monsters, Skaven monsters, and Chaos wannabes. You do fight a few orks, but they roll over quickly and then you basically can finish his campaign without ever fighting them again until mid to late game. 1) His start position naturally has him fighting vampires. Ungrim leads Karak Kadrin, and he plays quite a bit differently from the other Lords, for 2 reasons. It's a unique challenge in the game, and can be rewarding, but unless you basically know how to cheese/powergame the start, it can be a bit rough. Thorgrim is no slouch in the economy department, but he is the weaker fighter.īelegar is a very tough start - His economy is crippled until you retake Karak Eight Peaks. Grombrindal is the better fighter, and arguably can build a better early game economy. Grombrindal and Thorgrim share the same faction - Karaz-A-Karak.
